We were delighted to be part of a prestigious office project with stricking artificial plants and smart customized GRC plant pots. To sit down with the designers and dive into details was very exciting.

The first discussion was about using artificial plants instead of natural plants. Situations and environments don’t always allow for natural plants. So we had to make sure that the artificial plants would have the same look and feel and be of the best quality. Plants are regularly included into the design to bring in warmth into the project. At the same time, with a prestigious office project such as this it is essential to keep in mind the professional setting. The type of plant which we selected had to reflect that. Sansevieria plants are very modern looking plants. They fit perfectly into office settings, because of their shape.

A prominent office project always has to have cutomized plant pots. Here we were looking for contemporary plant pots with a natural look and feel. But placing cement plant pots indoors wasn’t possible. The design concept was looking for large pots that would grab the attention when you walked into the room. Cement pots of this size are simply to heavy. The solution was to use GRC pots. They were selected and customized in color to match the interior design.

When putting together each plant arrangement we wanted to avoid a too stark look and added a lively element. Luckily the selected plant, the sansevieria, is available is different colors.

Being involved from the beginning of a project, advising on plants and pots that match the design concept until the day of completion is amazing.

Decorating fashionable restaurants with hydroculture plants is challenging, but such a valuable experience. Being able to re-produce the vision of a new client has a lot to do with an open communication as well as with as experienced staff that enjoys putting together each time new designs.

And if the client wants Plants Design is there a paint the plant pot with a design representing the concept of the restaurant.

Two restaurants with such different concepts but with a wonderful variety of combining artificial trees and decorative hanging plants with natural plants.

We are especially proud not only to be trusted with such a project but to be able to deliver the wide range of artificial tress and other items required for these two amazing restaurants. Each has its own unique and fashionable style that we had to follow. And it was the combination of workmanship in producing such a beautiful artificial cherry tree as well as the inspiration of an experienced team in decorating the space in a unique manner with artificial trees hanging philo leaves, cherry blossom garlands, artificial willow blossoms, bushy hanging philo plants in coconut hanging baskets. And the beautiful peace lilies (spathyphyllum) known for the calming effect were a special touch.

Preserved Moss Walls are the most beautiful way nowadays to bring greenery to a living and working space. And it is always exciting for us when our valued clients pick up on ideas of the different ways that can be used.

In the case of the staff pantry, the preserved moss wall was not only used to stylishly decorate the wall in combination with special fit-out design wall sections.

The moss was used in this wonderful project also as framed pictures on the wall. As beautiful artistic pictures and posters can be, enhancing a wall space with natural greenery gives another very different and special vibe to a workplace. The color, the natural smell of moss relax and has a calming effect. Something a picture could not provide.

Being invited to participate in such a forward-thinking and prestigious project as the National Aquarium of the UAE in Abu Dhabi was a great honor. And we did our very best to not only fulfill the requirements but to go even beyond. Finding the right preserved phoenix palm tree of the highest quality with the matching plant pot to fit into the space was a challenge. Detailed work was required to provide an eye-catching example of a preserved phoenix palm tree that welcomes the guests in an inviting way once they enter the National Aquarium, but at the same time, it should not hinder the staff from doing their duty.

The preserved date palm tree was selected for National Aquarium because it has a very special connection to the country itself and is a well-known representation of the history of the UAE.

Being innovative, being a good employer means taking care of your staff. And one way to do that is creating an attractive environment which allows them to rest and settle down for a while. And as much as the ‘health and wealth’ of each staff member should be the main intent of a modern company set-up, there are many benefits for the company itself. Nowadays there a multiple test showing the difference in effectiveness between an individual working in a modern space and the same individual working in a traditional company environment.

And in case of DGW we were so pleased that we were approached to assist them in enhancing this space which is within a garage itself.  The ‘café’ was designed by DGW themselves using car parts and other mechanical parts used on a daily base by the staff. It was simply amazing. And their intent to not only add a fresh green colored moss wall to the area, but to enrich it with a lively motto to motivate their staff, was such a great idea. The lighted up logo makes such a difference to the space and to the moss wall as well. The lighted up logo makes the lively moss wall unique. Who would not want to spend time at that table?
